Analysis of Common Faults in Hot Die Forging Press


Normal wear and tear, improper maintenance or use of hot die forging presses during production and operation can lead to various failure phenomena. Therefore, the manufacturer of hot die forging presses will analyze common faults of hot die forging presses with you through this article.

1. Stuck and overloaded vehicles

During normal operation, the slider stroke is overloaded to the lower fulcrum, causing the clutch to slip and causing a stuffy car. After a depressed car occurs, first determine the location of the depressed car and then take appropriate measures, which can generally be solved by adjusting the height of the mold closure. It can also increase the intake pressure of the clutch, drive in reverse or stop the car, respectively, to solve the depressed car before and after the dead center.

Improper equipment selection, low forging temperature, improper mold adjustment, repeated insertion of forgings or leaving hard foreign objects in the mold, etc., may overload the press. It is difficult to handle serious accidents due to the depressed overloading of the vehicle caused by the press. When it is not possible to completely detach using existing methods, it is necessary to cut off the mold or loosen the pre tightening nut of the body.

2. The bearing temperature is too high

During normal operation of the equipment, even when idle, if the temperature of the crankshaft sleeve changes significantly in a short period of time, it is necessary to consider whether the gap between the sleeves is too small.

3. When the main motor current is too high, it runs idle

When idling, if the main motor current is too high, certain parts of the transmission system may have problems, such as whether the brake and clutch stroke are appropriate, whether the friction plates are detached, whether lubrication is good, whether the crankshaft bearing clearance is too small, and whether the motor belt is pre tightened.

4. Press continuous punching

The stretching and punching of the press machine has experienced very serious malfunctions, lightweight forging waste, mold damage, heavy machinery damage, and casualties. Firstly, it is necessary to check whether there are any errors in the control program of the press, whether the cam switch signal is working, whether the clutch friction plate is detached, whether the clutch is released, whether the brake action is working, and whether the intake and exhaust of the clutch and brake are smooth.

5. Body vibration

The excessive vibration of gas can lead to many problems such as deterioration of the working environment, reduced compression life, and reduced forging accuracy. Preliminary judgment on whether the flywheel balance jumps too well, whether the crankshaft bearings are severely worn, whether the foundation screws are loose, and whether the pre pressure for tightening the bolts is sufficient. Then, based on the previous content, further analysis was conducted to ultimately identify the root cause of the problem.
