Some Little Knowledge about Hot Die Forging Press


1、 Composition of Hot Die Forging Press

The hot forging press is mainly composed of a working mechanism, body, clutch and brake, main transmission, electric control system, and lubrication system. The working principle of a hot forging press is basically similar to that of a universal crankshaft press. The emergence of wedge-shaped mechanisms and yoke type sliders has also led to the gradual development of large-scale hot die forging presses.

2、 Characteristics of Hot Die Forging Press

(1) It has high cleanliness and good surface quality, as well as the advantages of mechanization and automation.

(2) The hot forging press has high stiffness. I believe most "insiders" know that the cleanliness of die forgings largely depends on the stiffness of the press. So, generally speaking, we will require the stiffness of the force area of the press to be large enough to ensure that it can meet the characteristics of small elastic deformation of the equipment under heavy force. Therefore, the structure of hot die forging presses mainly adopts thick and short eccentric shafts, as well as non adjustable thick and short integral connecting rods and wedge-shaped workbenches. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the body of the hot die forging press. So, the stiffness of a typical hot forging press is almost five times that of an open press.

(3) The slider of the hot forging press has strong anti eccentric load capacity. If multi cavity forging is to be carried out on a hot die forging press, the anti tilting ability of the slider must be strong enough. Therefore, the hot forging press chooses to use an elephant nose shaped or elongated slider in its structure. Nowadays, the connection between the connecting rod and the slider has changed from single support to double support, which to some extent improves the guidance accuracy and anti eccentric load ability of the slider.

(4) The slider stroke frequency of the hot forging press is high. At present, the travel times of hot die forging presses are mostly between 35-110 times/min (which is 7-9 times that of universal crankshaft presses with the same nominal pressure). This can effectively reduce the contact time with the mold during the heating blank forging process, thereby effectively improving the mold life.
